According to the Global Destination Cities Index for 2014, Prague is the 22nd most frequently visited city in the world, and the ninth most popular destination in Europe. The capital of the Czech Republic is a very famous destination. There is an other fresher survey, where Trip Advisor has listed off the most popular global destinations of 2015, and Prague is the fifth. Lets some some details of these reports!
The Global Destinations Cities Index provides an annual ranking of 132 of the most important destinations in the world and it includes estimates of the total number of international visitors and their spending. The first global destination of the index is London for the third time in a row.
The study claims that Prague was visited by 4.9 million tourists in 2014, which is 400,000 more than the previous year. According to some research, this number maybe increase in 2015. In the report, the Czech capital has overtaken Berlin, Madrid and Warsaw, among others.
The Trip Advisor listed some of the world’s most beautiful major cities, focusing on rich culture, markets, gardens and palaces. The first 10 cities are: Marrakech, Siem Reap, Istanbul, Hanoi, Prague, London, Rome, Buenos Aires, Paris and Cape Town.
The city is absolutely stunning, not to mention the delicious beer. It has hundreds of tourist attractions, for instance the Old Town Square, the Charles Bridge, The Old Royal Palace, or the Golden Lane. To sum up, Prague remains an important center of business, culture and economy, that absolutely worth a visit.
